Multiculturalism has gone too far

Here in Canada, and more precisely Ontario, we have a bit of an odd situation. See, as Canadians we always push for having respect for all cultures and people. I'm all for it. However recently its been a real pain.

You see, foreigners seem to think they deserve special treatment upon coming into say...Toronto. They expect to be able to wear their turbans and wield knives depending on their respective religion. Ok....its not that bad, but when they come out saying "Merry Christmas" and OUR Canadian culture is disrespectful to them.....personally I want to tell them to get the f*ck out of my country.

Now, I'm REALLY open minded and I happen to like people of all races and creeds. However if I were to visit China or somewhere in Europe, I would be expected to follow THEIR customs and respect THEIR beliefs. If they ask me to remove my shoes upon enetering a house because thats their custom...so be it. If I am to drink tea on tea time in Britain...so be it. When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

So why must we as Canadians bow down to the immigrants here in our own turf? Why must we say "Praise Allah" and "Happy Holidays" when its THEM who should be making changes to live here. Why is it wrong for me to wear a baseball cap in a workplace, yet ok for Akbar to wear his turban. Take the damn thing off buddy, because you aren't in your homeland....you are in Canada. Act like a Canadian.

The U.S. has a melting pot system, where foreign people strive to become more "American". Thats technically how it SHOULD be in my opinion.

If you want my honest opinion, racism and disrespect seems to be okay in the Eastern continents....and yet its the god damn end of the world if we force any of our customs on immigrants. That to me is utter bullshit. Its okay for a japanese person to look down on me when I visit them, but its a crime against humanity for me to do the same in canada.

Sorry....I just needed to get that off my chest and meant no disrespect for anyone. It just pisses me off when the local customs are tossed aside in favour of forgeign ones thats all. I'm not even religious but it STILL bugs me when people have to say Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas.

The boredom, she comences

Yeah, thats right. No news yet about any jobs. I'm going to have to start hucking my resume in all sorts of directions and maybe someone will catch it. Maybe. Eventually. Sooner or later. I hope. :)

Well lately I've been finding it harder and harder to play really long and complicated games. In fact I've been playing more simple games were you can just hop in and have fun. Games like Morrowind and such are great, but sometimes I'd rather just play a SNES platform game or a quick round of deathmatch in an FPS. Some games just start to get really boring after awhile and I need a break. Apparently I'm not the only one. Maybe its about time I cracked open DOSBox to play some oldies.....those always hold my interest ;)

If you want a good laugh, check this out. Something about hearing Fred Flintstone swear at Barney just brings a smile to my face.

Whats that? Do I have anything worth talking about in the realm of 3D Studio Max? Uh....tomorrow, yeah check back tomorrow.

Spoke too soon

Well so much for that job offering. Apparently I won't be getting it. I was really hoping to finally have something to do all day, but I guess not. The hunt for a job continues. I swear if there really is a God, he must be a fisherman. He has that line but everytime I try to bite.....he pulls it away.

Well on the plus side I'lm going to start doing some 3D Studio Max tutorials. Nothing fancy yet, just some modelling and animation basics. When I have something worth showing I may start my own website to host them. I'll have quite a bit of free time until I manage to find a decent job, so at least I'll do something worthwhile with my time. My real problem will be trying to find a decent webhost for my animations. You get what you pay for, so that may be a bit of an issue. If anyone knows any decent hosts just leave a link in the comments for me.
